AW18 Location Shoot - North Shields Famous Fishquay

AW18 Location Shoot - North Shields Famous Fishquay

The latest Longsands photo shoot used a new location that we've never shot  before. It provided a huge array of backdrops for our models to do their thing! Derelict buildings, a mini-beach, a pier, a fish market and a boat load of awesome bars & restaurants

North Shields Fish quay is having a huge resurgence! It's fast become THE place to go at any time of the day. Long gone are the days of a dirty and somewhat smelly place to visit for some fish and chips and watch the ships come in.

The Fish Quay and its banks really do seem to have it all - there's everything from cafe's to a Cross Fit gym and the oldest pub in North Shields to an independent brewery. Whilst I can't vouch for the Cross Fit (although friends tell me its great) I can certainly let you know about some of the eateries and drinking establishments!

The Salty Sea Dog is still a  relatively new addition to the fish quay, whilst it may look small its menu of gins and tapas is anything but! Definitely worth a visit to try a new gin and taste some Tapas dishes that wouldn't look out of place on the Cost Del Sol; Costa Del Shields indeed!

Meanwhile at the Low Lights Tavern you would be a fool not to sample their pie and mash - quite simply its the best in the world! They have been in the same place since 1657 and there are plenty of little facts dotted around the pub for the keen historians.

A little walk up a not so little hill will take you to the flash house brewery . It's best to check their opening hours before you make a trip but its a great place to sit amongst all the beer making machinery and enjoy a pint or two ...

There are new establishments due to open soon - Allards from Tynemouth have secured the old William Wight Fish store and a mexican restaurant is rumoured to be taking over the now closed Irvins Brasserie building so we'll be keeping a keen eye on that one.

All together a great location to shoot with lots of variety. Check out our Look Book for the full shoot.

Our last photo shoot down at King Eddies Bay and Riley's Fish Shack had a little know brand called Barbour follow suit. We never like to say we are trendsetters but I wouldn't be surprised to see more brands taking advantage of the moody vibe that the North Shields Fish Quay has to offer.  We love it!

Let us know what you think of the shots we got and what your favourite Fish Quay gaff is!

Love, Longsands xx
